Broccoli and Chicken Casserole with Gouda – Spicy and Creamy!

Ingredients (for 4–6 servings):
✅ 1 large head of broccoli
✅ 2 chicken breasts
✅ 250 g pasta (macaroni, penne, rigatoni, or cannelloni)
✅ 1 teaspoon of chili pepper
✅ salt, pepper, granulated garlic
✅ 2 tablespoons of oil
Cheese sauce:
✅ 2 tablespoons of butter
✅ 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
✅ 500 ml of milk
✅ 200 g of Gouda cheese (grated)
✅ 1 teaspoon of mustard (e.g., Dijon)
✅ salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1️⃣ Cook the pasta al dente according to the instructions.
2️⃣ Cut the broccoli into florets, place in boiling water for 2–3 minutes, and drain. 3️⃣ Dice the chicken, season with salt, pepper, chili pepper, and garlic. Sauté in oil until golden.
4️⃣ Cheese sauce: In a saucepan, melt the butter, add the flour, and stir vigorously. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring constantly. Cook until the sauce thickens. Add the grated Gouda and mustard, and season to taste.
5️⃣ In a large bowl, combine the pasta, chicken, broccoli, and half of the sauce.
6️⃣ Transfer to an ovenproof dish, pour over the remaining sauce, and sprinkle with additional cheese (optional).
7️⃣ Bake for about 20-25 minutes at 190°C (350°F), until golden brown.
